Resources
There are so many amazing organizations dedicated to fighting for clean air. There are also excellent organizations who help those who suffer from twitchy airways. I have a few of them broken down below. Please send me resources you have found helpful as well.
Airways Education
If you have been diagnosed with asthma or COPD or have a family member suffering from those diseases, consider the following educational resources in addition to those recommended by your healthcare team.
Asthma Care for Adults Course- a free, self-paced online course from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America for people with asthma and their caregivers
American Lung Association- Lung Health & Diseases– has a great deal of information about various lung diseases, symptoms, testing and more
Quit Smoking!
If you smoke and don’t already have twitchy airways, you are increasing your risk of developing airway diseases and other illnesses. If you smoke and DO have asthma or COPD, the most important thing you can do for your health is to quit. Half of regular smokers will die from smoking. Stop paying your hitman. Ask your healthcare team for smoking cessation resources available to you, and you can also explore the ones the American Lung Association offers. There is also help for family members of those who smoke and vape, targeted teen resources, and more.
Smokefree.gov – also has multiple resources
